A carnelian seal amulet featuring a carved cartouche, reading Maatkare- the throne name of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt's most renowned female pharaohs. The inscription remains clear despite age wear, with the distinctive form of the name rendered in bold strokes. Set with its original twisted gold suspension ring, characteristic of elite New Kingdom jewelry and rarely preserved, this amulet would have conferred not only magical protection but also signified status and identity- perhaps worn by a courtier or official closely tied to the reign of Queen Hatshepsut.
