BYZANTINE. AE 2 uncia (?) disk weight (40 x 7 mm, 84.38g). Incised Γ B (cross above) / Incised circular marks. Cf. Hendin, Ancient Scale Weights 386 for a similar 1 uncia weight. Hendin considered his 1 uncia to be overweight and probably used for fraudulent purposes, but this 2 uncia piece, which is just about double suggests the existence of a local heavy uncia standard rather than false weights--unless we assume that the two pieces belonged to the same fraudulent set.
